About Bafang Dumpling
Located at 453 Los Cerritos Center, Cerritos, CA 90703, Bafang Dumpling operates as a shanghainese serving Cerritos in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Cerritos; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 10 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (562) 991-6156. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, bafangdumpling.com.
Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 64 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded shanghainese & dumplings in Cerritos.
Cerritos is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Cerritos is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

4 to 4.5 stars I ordered the pork chop rice and it was really savory, rich, and tasty. I loved the pickled mustard greens and cucumbers to cut the fattiness of the pork and “lo ba” minced braised part. Despite there not being too many people, there was a bit of a mixup after placing my order at the counter for dine-in. My buzzer went off and the food given to me was not what I had ordered. I opened the box partially to look inside, and after an employee searched around for who it belonged to (someone with the same number but for take-out), the bag of food which I already opened (didn’t stick any utensils in.. but could have?) was then just handed to the next person. Then it took a bit longer than expected to fulfill my order, and when another employee brought it up to the pickup counter area.. there was more awkwardness like he didn’t know who it belonged to, nor did I know if it was my order. Anyway— the dish I ordered was really tasty but took a bit longer to get to eating

The Cerritos location has been the best location among the few that I have visited, cleanliness & space. Glad that they started loyalty program & offers promo someone. Today though... I was a bit disappointed to see the portion of protein significantly shrunk... I literally thought "missing pieces"... Economy?! Definitely needing to increase workers. Overall polite workers & clean ambience. Hoping for improvement next visit🤞

Excellent taste and EXCELLENT customer service. The guy working there helped me a lot with deciding what to get and even substituted their regular oil with vegan oil specifically for my order. I got the potstickers and sesame noodles, and both were delicious. Really appreciated how accommodating and friendly they were

The food was decent, I really appreciated the noodles dish, a flavor combination I’d never had before. The low rating is because the tray my meal was served on was disgusting! The tray was covered in a sticky surface that was noticeable to the eye, this is unacceptable and unfortunate.

1/29/26: (4/4/4) We checked out Bafang Dumpling for the first time last week and were pleasantly surprised. The potstickers and the pork chop with braised pork belly rice are really good. The price is very reasonable. The hot and sour soup is not sour enough, a bit sweet for my taste. There's sauce station to dunk your signature pot stickers in. The wonton soup that comes with #2 is also quite good. They also sell frozen dumplings. I'll try the Taiwanese beef noodle soup next time. Will definitely return. 5/27/26: (5/4/3) Came to pick up to go. I just spent $28 at California Fish Grill across the street and it didn't fill me up. Picked up the Pork Chop rice combo with 6 signature potstickers for $14, and it came with free fountain drink. The quality and the quantity is amazing. Really love their potstickers! BTW, perhaps the AC is deliberately cranked up, you need a sweater to eat inside.
